Mum
The sweetness of a mother who loved until she died
Her patience and forgiveness can never be denied.
The unfailing words of comfort that always came with care
The way she used to put lipstick on, and those flowers in her hair
******
Her handbags for every occasion
The colourful way she dressed
The way she smiled and said nothing at all,
Her smile, was just the best.
******
The cosy nights we shared, talking for hours on end
The time we had together
Who would have thought about the end
******
I miss her more than ever, I want to share so much
But mum, was getting weaker, there was no cure, her cancer just could not be touched
******
I can’t share my teens with her
She will never see them grow
My only hope is that she’s up there watching us, I only hope she knows
******
Make the most of everyone you love, put yourself out when at times you can’t
Try to make that trip to see your brother or that trip to see your lovely aunt
*****
Time will never stop, and one day you will see
That day will come when a loved one’s life is done, it’s a sad reality
******
Don’t put the new kitchen or party first before you make that trip
When we are older and deep in thought,
It’s people that make us tick
******
Waste no time, if you can, just live, laugh, love and have fun
Do what makes you happy, spend it with someone
Time won’t wait for the right time, although we think it will
The one thing that is certain, is that time will not stand still…
